A young Hindu woman was killed by a Jihadi Lover Lurker

Allegations of love lurking by Jihadi (or Love Jihad) element appears to be real. In yet another incident where a Hindu woman lost her life as a culmination of love affair has created fear about inter religious marriages.

Shraddha, from Mumbai, worked at a call centre in Mumbai and met Aftab Ameen Poonawalla and they started dating. Her family did not approve of their relationship following which the couple eloped to Delhi and lived in the Mehrauli area. After sometime, Shraddha wanted to marry Aftab. But, Aftab was delaying it and she started insisting.

On Saturday (November 11, 2022). He reportedly strangled 26-year-old Shraddha on May 18 and then chopped her body into 35 pieces. He then bought a new fridge to store the body pieces and threw them at various locations over a period of 18 days. To avoid any suspicion, he reportedly used to leave the house with a body part in a polybag at around 2 am.

Father of Shraddha, unable to reach  to his daughter, gave a missing police complaint and the police unearthed the killing. The brutality of dismembering the body of his lover who believed him despite of belonging to Muslim religion has costed the life of a young Hindu woman.

Is a Liberal Woman meant for Love Lurkers?

Ravita Meghwa, a 16 year old girl and daughter of a Pakistani Hindu Sataram Das Meghwar has been converted and married off to Syed Nawaz Ali Shah without the consent or knowledge of her parents. Parents say that their daughter is kidnapped from her village near Nagarparkar Town on June 6th. Haqu, mother of Ravita, insisted that her daughter was kidnapped by the influential Syed community, forcibly converted and then married. She has been named as Gulnaz after conversion to Islam. Shah is 36year old. and the marriage is conducted in registrar office in union council Gulzar Khalil in Samaro of Umerkot district of Karachi.  Marrying of girls under 18 is a punishable offence under the Sindh Child Marriages Restraint Act, 2013. The registrar had mentioned Shahs year of birth (1980) and the national identity card number on the marriage certificate. But, the registrar mentions only the age of the girl  as 18 years without mentioning the date of birth during marriage and national identity card (NIC) number mentioning her age/DOB.  Similarly, the certificate of conversion to Islam did not mention her NIC number but mentioned her age as 18 years. An FIR has been registered (in second week of June) at the Dano Dandhal police station in Nangarparkar taluka and a case has been filed in Sindh High Court (SHC) through advocate Bhagawandas.

Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat, Ghousia Jamat and Jeelani Jamat and other political outfits of Pakistan  are openly supporting the Muslim husband. Bhagchand Meghwar of PPP-SB (Pakistan People Party - Shahid Bhutto)  and other activists are opposing the forceful conversion of the girl. Various Jamaat activists are on the streets to oppose what they called the propaganda with "blasphemous contents" on social media in the wake of Ravitas conversion to Islam.

The bench headed by Justice Salahuddin Panhwar ordered Mirpurkhas DIG and Tharpakr SSP to produce Ravita on June 22, the day of next hearing. Next case hearing is scheduled for 30th June.

Earlier, Shah and Ravita had filed an application in the SHC seeking protection and accusing the girls parents of issuing death threat. Ravita has appealed to her parents to let her live with her husband happily as, according to her, she had taken the decision to embrace Islam to marry the person of her choice. She requested the people of her community and members of civil society to stop raising the issue further. "I am very satisfied and happy after marrying Nawaz Ali Shah and now I cannot [live] without my husband," she said yesterday and made it clear that she was not kidnapped. "I willingly went with Shah after falling in love with him."  Ravita expressed the hope that the court would do justice with her and allow her to live with her husband.

Not just the girl, her parents, and political supporters are under pressure in Pakistan from Islamic organizations. It is possible that Ravita may depose in the court in favor of her abductors and against her parents.

The pattern of aggression against Hindu girls is same.  Hindu girls, often shortsighted and selfish, become prey to non-Hindu and many times anti-Hindu men. The men need not be unmarried. Non-Hindu man need not be compatible in age, education qualification, appearance and economic levels.  Parents of Non-Hindu man play their role. Encourage their son and exhibit their liberal face  till marriage. During marriage, invariably non-Hindu rituals are followed. Either a contract or a commitment in writing is taken from the Hindu girl contradictory to the oral agreements.  Opposition from the girl relatives to the marriage is circumvented through abductions and elopements.  False imagery of post married life is sustained by the non-Hindu community.  Simultaneously, threats and fear is implanted in the mind  of the Hindu girl about the safety of her parents.  Hindu girl will be misinformed and misled about the developments in her family, in police stations and in courts.  She would be encouraged to depose against her parents before and in the aftermath of marriage.  Some time after the marriage, un-Hindu and many times aDharmik marriage norms are imposed by husband and his family members.  Legal or social structures can not prevent such imposition.  Parents can not come to the rescue of the girl. The Hindu girl either accepts her fate or does not understand that she is exploited.

Or is it that Hindu girl is happy in a Muslim or Christian home? or Is the love (lust) of a liberal women fulfilled in such surprising scenario?  Is a Liberal Woman meant for Love Lurkers?

Love Lurking - A Semitic Phenomena?

Love lurking refers to feigning love with concealed intentions.  The phenomena is unique to Semitic religions  and prominently manifests in Christianity and Islam.  The evangelical terms for love lurking is either called flirt fishing and love bombing. The Jihadi term for love lurking is known as love jihad.

An evangelical organization named Children of God initiated its female members into an evangelical activity named flirty fishing (FFing). In this activity, the missionary organization published several documents with exact instructions to use flirting to convert men of other religions.  Flirty Fishing was defined as using sex appeal for proselytizing. If flirting included masturbation, oral, or penetrative sex, the women was considered as a deep witness drawing more respect among the group was loving sexually for the Gods sake. FFing did not include intercourse, but allowing intercourse was the most efficient method of proselytizing. The activity was started in 1974 officially and ended in 1987 till the fear of AIDS swept the globe.  According to 1988 statistic, more than two and half lakh men were converted through fishing. The offspring from the pregnancies due to FFing are called as Jesus babies. Presently, the organization is named as Family international.

Members of the Unification Church of the United States coined a term called Love bombing in an attempt to influence a person by demonstrations of attention and affection. Typically the love is feigned and the practice is psychological manipulation in order to create a feeling of unity within the group against a society perceived as hostile.

Jihadi Muslims across the globe are initiating systematic sustained violence to annihilate non-Muslim men and appropriate non-Muslim women and children. Celibacy is not recommended and multiple marriages are allowed in Islam. When the Muslims are in minority and when the Islamic rule is not present, Jihadi approach replaces the violence completely or partially by Love lurking termed as Love Jihad by affected Christians.

In Love Jihad, Jihadi Muslim community encourages the Muslim boys to pursue non-Muslim girls. Not restricted by celibate rules of the religion, Muslim boys pursue non-Muslim girls diligently and freely.  Non-Muslim girls lean more towards attention paying Muslim boys in comparison to reserved boys from their own community.  Muslim boys pursues the girls till the marriage and then initiates the conversion to Islam with near 100% success.

Is Pooja Bhatt supporting noise pollution?

Why Pooja Bhatt is supporting disturbance due to loud Muslim prayers, which was opposed by Sonu Nigam?

It is a well known fact that loud Muslim prayers multiple times every day through horn loud speakers is distrubing neighborhood residents everywhere.  Such use of horn loudspeakers is illegal too.  Sonu Nigam is neither the first person who is complaining not the last person who will complain this public nuisance. In fact, many courts across the country have passed judgements to stop noise pollution due to Muslim prayers through horn loud speakers.   But, administration and politicians have failed to implement the court orders.

So, when Sonu Nigam says something about a real issue, Why should Pooja Bhatt support the loudspeaker noise with Church bells and aggarabathi? And relate them to the spirit of India?  Here are some observations and speculations.

1. Church bells are not as loud as horn loudspeakers. Aggarabathi does not create noise pollution or any other pollution. Pooja Bhat may be becoming emotional for some reason.

2. The spirit of India is not trouble making. Not acknowledge mistakes committed by one group would not contribute towards achieving social harmony as some believe naively.

3. Pooja Bhatt is daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Loraine Bright (Kiran Bhatt after marriage). She is separated from her husband Munish Makhija.  Pooja may be taking the issue personally.

4. Sonu Nigam is identifying him self as a non-Muslim. He is a theist. He is forced to wake up by loudspeaker. He is rightly calling this as a forced religiousness prevalent in India. Probably, Sonu Nigam is crossing the political correctness.

5. Sonu Nigam has sent out three tweets on this topics one after the other. The second tweet categorically disowns temples and gurudwara that creates noise pollution. Still, many are conveniently neglecting the second tweet and creating noise around the first tweet.

6. It is not easy to articulate clearly against the problem of noise pollution in India. NGOs such as Awaaz, socio-politico-cultural organizations such as RSS, VHP, BJP, Congress, Communists are hesitant to raise this issue.  Sonu Nigam has boldly and correctly articulated the problem faced by vast populations across the country.

7. Ahmad Patel has understood the problem articulated by Sonu Nigam and responded appropriately in a positve way.

8. While many artists, writers and academicians are voicing their support to Sonu Nigam, many politicians have remained as mute spectators. And Pooja Bhatt has jumped in to create confusion and complicate the problem.

Christian Theological collelge - the choicest venue of Amnesty for sedition

Amnesty International organized a programme on 13th August 2016, which is alleged as aimed at maligning Indian Army.  The events of the programme created controversy which force the Karnataka state police to file an FIR against Amnesty International for sedition charges.  Public protest is growing against individual and organizations who collaborated to organize the programme. Obvious question in this occasion is who provide the venue for the progrmme. Here is a brief introduction of UTC, the venue of the programme.

The College was inaugurated in July 1910 under the name "The United Theological College of South India and Ceylon" for teaching Christian theology. It was established through the co-operation of the Christian Missionary societies, Churches of Scotland and Americas.  Churches of Jaffna and EU gave monetary support for establishment of the college.

In the decades of 1950 and 1960, Churches, Missionary Societies and other Christian organizations from various regions of India and abroad supported the college.  Specifically, the Church Missionary Society, the society for the Propagation of the Gospel, Danish Lutheran Church, Danish Missionary Society, Basel Evangelical Mission of Germany,  Kolhapur Church Council, church of South India, Mar Thoma Church,  The Council of Y.M.C.A's in India, Church of India, Pakistan, Burma and Ceylon (now merged in the Church of North India), Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church have joined hands with UTC providing money and all other support.

Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute merged with UTC and after that several Lutheran Church and Missions (Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Andhra Lutheran Church, Church of Sweden Mission, the Lutheran Church of America, the American Lutheran Church-both presently merged in the Evangelical Church of America, India Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Leipzig Evangelical Lutheran Mission ) became supporting bodies of the College. The Malankar Jacobite Syrian Church also joined in decade of 1970.

UTC currently offers various courses aimed at preparing people for serving Churches. The Bachelor of Divinity is a four year course which equips a candidate for pastoral ministry and ordination. The Master of Theology course is a two year course under the Senate of Serampore. This equips a candidate for teaching ministry and is offered under various departments like Old Testament, New Testament, Theology, Ethics, Counselling, Missiology, Women's Studies and Communication.  Doctor of Theology is a research programme with minimum of three years of duration and maximum of seven years.  Diploma in Pastoral Counselling is offered by the Counselling Department. It is a one year diploma which equips candidates in Counselling skills.  Diploma in Women's Studies is a one year diploma offered by the Women's Studies department. It equips candidates with the latest trends and research in Women's Studies.  The YMCA has a unit inside UTC and it runs a YMCA secretaries training programme in the campus.

Presently, about 30 students are studying for Bachelor of Divinity, 15 students in Doctor of Theology programme. There are about 20 faculty members, 4 administrative staff, 8 in office, 20 in maintenance staff employed by UTC.

Blame on Nayars and support converted Ezhavas

In June 2011, the Supreme Court directed the authorities from the archaeology department and the fire services, to open the secret chambers of the temple for inspection of the items kept inside

Dr. M.S. Jayaprakash, wrote an article in a Missionary online magazine in Sept 2011, immediately after three months of finding the treasure in Ananthapadmanabha temple.  Dr. M. S. Jayaprakash died on May 9th 2013.  Dr. M. S. Jayaprakash quotes “Church history of Travancore” by C.M Agur as his reference.  After about four months of his death, The Hindu published an article on the same topic, mostly taken from his blog on October 21, 2013 written by Nidhi Surendranath.   In the article, the most of the contents of the article from M. S. Jayaprakash is reproduced and biographies of politicians such as C. Kesavan,  K. R. Gowri Amma as well as blogs of Dr. Ajay S. Sekher have been cited as additional references.

C. Kesavan was a grand revolutionary in the mould of legendary Lenin, Mao, Che and Ho Chi Minh. Was the first chief minister of Kerala and died in 1969.

K. R. Gowri Amma (born 14 July 1919) heads the Janathipathiya Samrakshana Samithy (JSS), a political party based in Kerala, India. Prior to the formation of JSS she was a prominent figure in the communist movement in Kerala. She was the first female law student coming from the Ezhava community. She was a Minister in the communist-led Ministries in Kerala in 1957, 1967, 1980, and 1987 and also became a Minister in the Congress-led Cabinet from 2001 to 2006.

Ajay S. Sekher, a teacher of English at the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, through a blog post has introduced many to the story of Nangeli and mulachiparambu. He has written this blog on August 28th, 2012 about 14 months after the treasure was found.

On 9th March 2015, Vijayakarnataka, D. Umapathi a known Kannada journalist wrote a copy article on the same theme on the occassion of Worlds woman's day in Vijaya Karnataka, a Kannada daily from TOI group.  The articles had references from workds from Jesuits such as References of this story is also can be traced back to R. N. Yesudas, Ivy Peter, & Peter, D and others.

The caste oppression propaganda sustained by those who are resorting to religious conversion seems to be active again in these episodes heralded immediately after the discovery of treasure in Anantha Padmanabha temple.  Secularists, Leftists, and others from various walks of life are either appropriated or misled by the propaganda.

The topic of the propaganda is steering around conflict between Nayars and converted Ezavas.  It hides the issue of conversions, mixes up with so called 'breast tax', and 'head tax'.  Creates a victim heroine called Nangeli and demonizes Nayars.

Enthusiastic missionaries and hesitating military surveil Iraq

Christian ministries in Iraq are working day and night among the displaced Kurdish people of Iraq with an aid mission.  The aid mission is providing necessities of displaced people and is attempting to convert them to Christianity.  This information is provided by the Christian Aid Mission and is published by Mission Network News of USA. (by Ruth Kramer, on 13th October 2014, https://www.mnnonline.org)

A colonel, serving as a division commander of the Peshmerga and fighting ISIS, is converted to Christianity, according to this report.  The Kurdistan Regional Government's armed forces to which the colonel belongs, have helped to slow the incursion of ISIS in its brutal push to establish a caliphate imposing a strict version of Sunni Islam.  With the aid of U.S. air strikes, the Peshmerga have also slowly retaken some territory. They are helping to secure the Kurdish capital of Erbil, where a ministry team assisted by Christian Aid Mission is supplying displaced people with food, clothing, beds, and medicine. The colonel met the ministry team members and interacted with them. The colonel was impressed by the help that is being offered. The Peshmerga colonel, whose name is withheld for security reasons, was quick to respond.

"You see the Arabs around you in the Gulf states, which claim to be religious Muslims, have not sent us anything but terrorists," he told the ministry team members. "But you who follow Christ send love and peace and goodness to people every day. Today I am the happiest person! I've had the privilege of making this decision,' and he received a copy of the Bible."

According to the report, the colonel's experience was just one of many taking place in Iraq. In cities of refuge like Erbil for people displaced from their homes in other parts of Iraq, people are turning to Christ at a stunning pace. Tent churches are springing up in the makeshift camps. Under normal circumstances, mission strategies focus on how to proclaim Christ effectively, but the challenge now is keeping pace with the number who would receive Him, the director said.  The fervor of missionaries is such that some church leaders and workers for ministry organizations are remaining in Iraq even as the cruel practices of ISIS–beheading Iraqi children who refuse to deny Christ in Qaroqosh and Western journalists elsewhere–gain greater notoriety.

The news also includes a message and a request to more funds for food, water, medicine, and other supplies and promises to utilize the opportunity to demonstrate Christ's love in a tangible way.  While the UN and its powerful members are approaching the problem of ISIS in a hesitant and calibrated manner, missionaries are busy in poaching the helpless Islamic denominations by providing them with New Testaments and audio Bibles.

Saharanpur riot images

Communal riots between Muslims and Hindus has erupted in Saharanpur in western Uttar Pradesh over a land dispute.  Sikhs have a Gurudwara and they have purchased an adjacent land 15 years back. According to Muslims, the same land belongs to Waqf board.  Construction activity on the site has resulted in a clash between two communities in July last week.
The image published through media channels show rioting Muslims.

The questions now are
  1. Is it so difficult to identify the owner of a piece of land without any ambiguity?
  2. Is it so difficult to give the land to their rightful owners?
  3. Why the administration in every city is playing hide and seek when it comes to allotment of lands to temples and mosques?
  4. Why a mosque is illegally built  in many situations? Why such illegal mosques are legalized?
  5. Why should not rioting groups be separated in different localities?

Pope Francis promotes Internet for conversions

Pope Francis has praised the Internet as a "gift from God" that facilitates communication. Communication is a crucial element to reach out to non-Christians to bring them to the Christianity - euphemism for religious conversions.  Francis made the observations in a message about Catholic Church communications, titled "meditating on the marvels and perils of the digital era" and what that means for the faithful going out into the world and interacting with people of different faiths and backgrounds.

Soft spoken Pope Francis is feared by non-Christians, especially Hindus, for his belligerent enthusiasm to infuse fresh energy in Christian engagement with the rest of the world.  The ability of Pope Francis to take riskier positions while delivering the commitment of the Church to proselytize non-Christians is evident when he said "To (have a) dialogue means to believe that the 'other' has something worthwhile to say, and to entertain his or her point of view and perspective," The New Pope is saying that in engaging in that dialogue, Catholics shouldn't be arrogant in insisting that they alone possess the truth.   For Pope Francis, this is not an intellectual commitment for an unconditional dialogue seeking the truth. To clarify Francis wrote. "Engaging in dialogue does not mean renouncing our own ideas and traditions, but the pretense that they alone are valid and absolute."

Internet is invading all spheres of lives of people, especially newer generations and transforming the way people communicate. Setting an agenda for the Church to exploit this  phenomenon to spread Christianity, Pope Francis noted in his message on Thursday 23rd January 2014, that Internet offers "immense possibilities" to encounter people from different cultural and traditional backgrounds and show solidarity with them.  The Pope is confident of using the Internet efficiently and so said "This is something truly good, a gift from God". Continuing he also called for communications in the digital era to be like "a balm which relieves pain and a fine wine which gladdens hearts".  Specifically, he wants the church's message not to be one of bombarding non-Chrsians with Christian dogma in an ineffective way.  Pope Francis said "May the light we bring to others not be the result of cosmetics or special effects".   He reiterated to focus on the vulnerable and the poor to receive the effective communication to be read by the Internet.  "The light we bring to others be of our being loving and merciful neighbors to those wounded and left on the side of the road," he said.

Although the media is predicting that the comments would likely to rile the more conservative wing of the church, in reality, Pope Francis has offered the softer approach in sermons and gestures, not deviating from the rigid Church teachings.

According to church teaching distilled by then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the Catholic Church holds the "fullness of the means of salvation" — a message that has long been taken to mean that only Catholics can find salvation. Church teaching also holds that those who don't know about Jesus but seek him can also attain eternal salvation. Pope Francis is also just following the path of his previous head - Pope Benedict XVI who was a strong proponent of engaging in inter religious dialogue.

Archbishop Claudio Mario Celli, the head of the Vatican's social communications office, said he didn't think Francis was making an official policy statement on inter religious dialogue, noting that the message was merely a reflection, "not a conciliar or dogmatic text."

But he acknowledged that Francis is shaking things up in much the same "providential" way Pope John XXIII shook up the church in launching the Second Vatican Council. "We are realizing that there are sensations of, I wouldn't say difficulty, but of discomfort sometimes in certain circles," he said. "I think step by step we must rediscover a sense of the path, of what the pope wants to tell us." Pope Francis is cleverly positioning the Church to hasten the proselytizing pace and his followers take some time to understand and adopt his style of thinking.

Chrismas message from Pope Francis

The Christsmas message from Pope Francis was filled with rhetoric and masked genteelly the proselytizing agenda of the Church. The Pope has invited non-believers to come to the fold of Christianity exhibiting his aggressive style masked in his mild manners. Invoking a biblical quote from Luke which assures peace only among those whom the Christian God favors, the Pope set the tone of his Christmas speech.

Christmas directs, according to the Pope, Christians to bring every one to Christ.  The Pope wants Christians to resolve to give their lives towards this goal (of evangelizing). The Pope defined peace in his speech as a daily commitment starting from Jesus Christ.

Pope Francis, unveiled a baby Jesus statue promoting another idol of worship for Christians around the world. He called missionaries to focus on vulnerable children, especially victims of war without loosing focus on elderly and the sick.  He focused on women and stressed on battered woman setting the agenda for Christians to destabilize Islamic and Hindu societies.  His message confirmed the continuation of Church strategy to push legal changes to intervene in Muslim and Hindu families around the world.

Pope Francis prayed for peace in Syria, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Nigeria, and Israeli - Palestian conflict and Iraq.  He also prayed for displaced and refugees of Africa and eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, specifically mentioning killings of Lampedusa. The prayer calls were focusing on Islamic countries and tragedies involving mainly Muslims indicating the intensity of focus of the Church on Muslims in the near future.

Overall, Pope Francis has insisted, as the head of the Catholic Church, his focus on the goal to bring the entire world under Christianity. He has done it strictly within the framework of Christian theology and world view. The western media, as usual, has projected his speech passively and positively providing false hopes to the public.  The media of the Islamic and Hindu world, continue to neglect the message overlooking its overtones.

Oath for students on the occasion of Ramadan

An oath for students received through mail....
Shows that the troubled people are forced to educate the younger generations.

RAMADAN OATH FOR STUDENTS

Fasting is meant to purify the body and soul. During the month of Ramadan, devout adherents are supposed to pray and reflect about the God and the self.  However, praying through the loud speakers defeats the very basic purpose.  Such prayers do not purify the individual but contaminates the environment and the surrounding areas with noise pollution. Use of speakers before 6.00am or after 10.00pm is illegal and the perpetrators are punishable.  Because, the noise pollution increases blood pressure and allied illnesses like heart attacks and strokes. Noise depriving good sleep is a major cause for onset of many diseases. Noise affects the students who are pursuing their studies. Observing fasting during Ramadan requires getting up early in the morning. Free time during mornings and evenings is not meant for playing and disturbing the residents of the area.  The free time is meant for silent prayers. Resentment created in the neighborhood due to the noisy observation of Ramadan affects social harmony.  I personally will not fast during Ramadan in this way. Instead, I pray silently and encourage others to follow the suit and set a model for superior spiritual practice. I will convey this message to my parents and all my friends.

Muslims burn a person accused of burning copy of Quran

A traveler in his 30s who was murdered by an angry mob on Friday, 21st Dec 2012 in Seeta village village of Sindh, a southern province of Pakistan. The traveller had sought a night's sleep in the local mosque, as is customary for out-of-town strangers to do in this part of the world.

He offered Isha prayers (on Thursday) and spent the night here. When (worshippers) came to the mosque for Fajr prayers (on Friday morning), the local imam and others found charred copies of the Holy Quran. The visitor for some reason allegedly lit one or more of copies of the Quran on fire.

The traveller was handed over to police after beaten by locals. And the imam of the mosque announced the incident on horn loudspeakers. More number of people assembled and about 1000 people attacked the police station. A group of 30 people led the mob, dragged the traveller out of police station and brought him to the center of the village. They assualted him brutally, poured kerosine and burnt him.

The suspect spoke in Saraiki accent. Saraiki is a Punjabi language group and is also spoken among many Hindus in the region. In the brief time that he was in the custody of the police, the man in custody, he refused to give up his identity. He is said to be mentally unstable and he was unable to provide basic information about himself like name and address.

An average of 53 people a year have faced blasphemy charges between 1986, when the law went into effect, and 2010. Of these, 52 people were murdered by angry vigilantes before their cases could be handled by the courts. About 1,400 blasphemy cases have been brought before Pakistan's courts and 15 people are on death row after having been found guilty of blasphemy. Local Muslim preachers (imam) play a prominent role in strengthening the charges of blasphemy and provocate local people to put pressure on the authorities. In many cases, vested interests misuse the laws to settle scores or to prosecute minorities.

Police have arrested more than 100 people in the village and neighboring areas. Immediately after the arrest, women of the village have protested in the street against the police action with copies of Quaran in their hands.

Islamists reject health to protect Islam

Isamists perceive UN sponsored polio vaccination as a Western tool to undermine Islam. They choose, as usual, Islam over Health initiative.

At least eight Pakistani health workers were shot to death in the 3rd week of December 2012 all over Pakistan as they administered the vaccination to children. The Associated Press is reporting a ninth person has died: a 20-year-old man who'd been shot in the head in Peshawar.

Six people were killed on Tuesday as they went house-to-house to treat children. At that time, Pakistan was determined to continue vaccinating children. Now the WHO says Pakistan and "affected" provinces are concerned over the safety of health workers, and they're shutting the program down for now. U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the slayings "senseless and inexcusable".

The health workers were murdered in a coordinated fashion. The first to die was a man killed in Karachi on Monday; four women were slain the following day. Then gunmen on motorcycles killed a woman vaccinating children in Peshawar, and a man in the same city on Wednesday. An eighth victim, a woman in a town to the north, was killed later that day.

Women are essential to the success of Pakistan's polio outreach, notes Dina. They can gain access to homes and speak to mothers, a situation where strange men would not be permitted. And polio is a problem in Pakistan. The WHO says polio is endemic in three countries: Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan.

The U.N. has halted its participation in a Pakistani-run polio vaccination program following attacks on health care workers. It clarified that the program has not been suspended. The Pakistani government would not end the campaign and is committed to seeing polio eradicated and has suspended vaccinations only in Sindh province, where Karachi is located.

Pope joins twitter to promote conversions

President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Claudio Maria Celli announced on 4th Dec 2012 that Pope Benedict would join twitter at the twitter address @pontifex. The move was motivated by desire of Pope to encounter men and women where ever they are, and begin a dialogue with them.

The first tweet was published on 12th Dec 2012, around 10.30am as announced earlier @pontifex and seven other associated accounts in different languages.  At the time of first tweet the Pope accounts had a million followers. The name of the account means "bridge-builder" as well as "pontiff" in Latin. The accounts followed only sever other papal accounts. Each of them would tweet the same message, at the same moment, in languages including Polish, Portuguese and Arabic.

His message read in English: "Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart." Within hours the message had been re tweeted more than 30,000 times, with more than 10,000 other users marking it as one of their favourites. Many responded in the spirit intended. "Dear holy father, we live in secular countries, please keep us in your prayers!" replied the Catholic youth movement World Youth Day. About an hour after the first came the second papal tweet. "How can we celebrate the Year of Faith better in our daily lives?" Then @pontifex answered his own question. "By speaking with Jesus in prayer, listening to what he tells you in the gospel and looking for him in those in need." Further questions and responses followed, selected from among the many thousands tweeted to the accounts in previous days.

According to Vatican, the 85 year old pontiff had been personally very keen to get himsefl a twitter account.  The microblogging site was keen to have a papal account. The company has a department dedicated to extending its brand among celebrity and influential figures, and reportedly employs around 20 staff solely to recruit high profile tweeters. Twitter's head of social innovation, Claire Diaz-Ortiz, had travelled to Rome to prepare the Vatican team for the big moment; after Benedict's inaugural message she tweeted on her own feed @claire: "The Pope is on Twitter. #done"

Vatican will have people to manage papal tweet accounts. Subsequent tweets will be written by others they will be approved by the Pope, according to Vatican spokesman - "not physically, but from his mind".

The tweet and the hype around it would be used by the Church to promote proselytizing of the non christian world.  The name and the tone of the initial messages clearly indicates this intent.

Hindu doctor killed in Pakistan

A well-known Hindu doctor was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in the restive Balochistan province of southwest Pakistan on Dec 13th 2012. Lakshmi Chand was going home when two gunmen riding a motorcycle fired at him in Mastung town. Chand was killed instantly and the gunmen fled from the spot. Police sent the body for an autopsy and registered a case.  Members of the minority Hindu community in Balochistan have been targeted by criminal gangs and extremists in recent months. Several Hindus, mostly petty traders, have been kidnapped for ransom. The murder appears to be one of the episodes of continued persecution of Hindus in Pakistan by Islamic adherents.

Tatto is against Islam

A tattoo on body of an adherent of Islam is against Shariyat, according to
a recent fatwa issued by Darul Uloom Deoband as reported on Dec 6th 2012.
The namaz offered by such a person will not be accepted. If the tattoo was
on parts of the body washed during wazoo, the person cannot offer namaz.
The person will have to get it removed.

A youth's friend got a tattoo made on his arm. Later ,he realised that he
had committed a mistake. So, he went to the doctor to get rid of it. But
the doctor said that it will need a graft surgery which involved a lot of
money. The youth, who hailed from a humble background, could not bear the
cost of it. So he asked the clerics at Deoband if his namaz would be
accepted if there was a tattoo on his body. In response, Darul Uloom's
Mufti Arif provided this ruling.  The fatwa has been supported by Bareilly
Markaz as well.

Bareilly Center (Markaz) is an Indian-based prestigious Islamic
organization that has a large following world-wide. Islamic scholar and
sufi Ahmed Raza Khan Fazil-e-Barelvi(1856–1921 CE) influenced the Barelvi
movement of South Asia and his son, Mustafa Raza Khan, commonly known as
Mufti e Azam e Hind, was born in Bareilly. Ahmed Raza Khan was an authority
on numerous topics, including Islamic law, religion, philosophy and the
sciences. He was a prolific writer, producing nearly 1,000 works in his
lifetime. These scholars were instrumental in enhancing the importance of
Bareilly Center of Islam.

The ruling is also applicable for perfume containing alcohol as well.
